Powerful Ways to Demonstrate Value to Customers

Sean Hyde • Sep 30, 2021

Value can be defined in many different ways. Customers may value the quality of your product, or they might value how much it costs. Some customers may even feel that their time is worth more than what you are charging for your product. We all want to make a purchase and feel like we are getting our money's worth. It sounds simple, but many businesses struggle with this concept when it comes to their customers. Here are some Powerful ways to demonstrate the value of your product or service.

1. Build A Customer Community

This is a great way to provide value and show your customers that you care about them. Start an email list, create a Facebook group or start a Slack channel for people who use your product or service! You can also do more personal things like invite them over to the office for some coffee and donuts once in awhile so they feel valued as humans instead of just dollar signs. Make sure you treat everyone with kindness and respect because this will come back around tenfold.

Another good idea is to give something away from time-to-time if it makes sense within the context of what's going on. For example, let's say that I'm selling my book "How To Be Single." I could run a promotion where if someone buys my book, they get an exclusive audio version for free. This is great because it's not costing me anything extra to give the bonus away and this makes people feel really valued.

2. Gather and Share Social Proof

Did you know that people are more likely to do something when they see other people doing it? This is called social proof and is a great way to demonstrate value. A good example of this would be testimonials or reviews where someone can share their story about your business in text form. These words become powerful persuasion tools because the reader sees them as an unbiased third party with no agenda giving their genuine opinion on what happened during the experience. Let's say, for instance, that I have yet another small business selling my own book "How To Be Single." You could write up some nice quotes from real customers who read it which includes things like...

"This was one of the best purchases I've made all year! My life has completely changed and I feel like a new person!"

Another way to do social proof is with screenshots or photos of your website where you can see all the success stories. You could add small blurbs about how they decided on using your product/service, what happened afterwards and their overall experience with it. An example would be...

"I was so excited when this business owner reached out to me because I've been wanting to start my own information marketing company for years but didn't know where to begin."

The reason why these types of tools are effective is that we tend to trust other people more than we trust ourselves in certain situations. We find comfort knowing that someone else went through something similar and had a great outcome. We may even think, "Well if they did it and had a positive experience then why can't I do the same?"

3. Create Content Just For Your Customers

Another thing you can do to convince people buying from you is by creating content just for them. For example, let's say that I'm writing a small business blog and want to sell my book "How To Be Single" alongside it. Instead of only promoting the product on this website (and nowhere else) I could write an article with tips about how much money singles save each year compared to those who are in relationships so they feel valued as customers! This helps prove your worth without being too salesy because people will appreciate knowing more information instead of constantly hearing about how great something is over-and-over again.

This method works really well when someone has already purchased or signed up for whatever service/product it may be so they feel like their money wasn't wasted. It also shows that you are an expert in the field which is why people should choose to work with you because of your extensive knowledge, years of experience and reliability!

Try adding small details throughout the content that will demonstrate value. You can even create a small testimonial or something else just for them if it feels natural within the article/blog post itself. If there's anything specific I might want to include about my book then this would be one way to do it while still staying true to writing quality material for everyone who visits my website regularly!

4. Leverage Competitor Comparisons

Another way to demonstrate value is by comparing yourself to your competitors. This helps people see how different you are from the rest and why they should choose you over everyone else (even if it's only small differences). You could say something like, "Instead of offering this service that my competitor does I tend to do X instead because it works much better." Or perhaps in an article/blog post about how small businesses can manage their money well you mention alternatives for certain things so there isn't a monopoly when it comes to services offered or tools given. It shows them what makes you unique while still giving them options which benefits their needs!

Let's take another example where I want to sell my book on small business management. Instead of comparing myself to small business owners who sell their products online I could compare my book to other small business management books. Perhaps the reason why someone should choose mine is because it has more strategies or tips inside based on what they need specifically which will save them time, money and effort in the long run!

You can even alter this strategy by saying something like "I'm pretty sure you've heard about X but have you tried Y?" If there's a service that your competitor offers then instead of just bashing them for being inferior try thinking up creative ways where people would see how using both services benefits their needs without getting overwhelmed with information overload. This helps demonstrate value while sticking true to creating quality content that everyone can benefit from whether they work for small businesses or not!

5. Provide Outstanding Customer Service

Excellent customer service means going beyond meeting your customer's basic needs. It involves much more than providing support in a timely and pleasant manner. More importantly, it means doing everything possible so your customers are not merely satisfied. They're actually happy with your products and services.

Excellent customer service creates loyal customers for life who are willing to refer your business to friends, family, and colleagues. Providing this type of excellent customer service starts with a genuine desire to delight your customers, but you also have to think beyond selling your products or services. You need to consider the cumulative experience your customers have when they visit your store or website, what they think and feel, and what you can do to make it better.

Conclusion:

There are many different ways small business owners can demonstrate value to their customers. By leveraging competitor comparisons, providing outstanding customer service and showing that they're not just in it for the money but rather want to help you succeed with your small business too these small businesses will go a long way when it comes to getting new clients/customers!

These strategies also benefit small businesses as word-of-mouth is something every small business wants more of because everyone loves sharing positive experiences which can lead into bigger opportunities for success!
